As you know by now, I've been doing a ton of healing work these past several years: first to heal my body, then my mind, then my house, and most recently, my business. It's been a lot. I even wrote a book about it.

I’ve hyper-functioned through years of chronic illness to run my businesses. When I say "hyper-functioned” I mean I relied on adrenaline (and a little caffeine) to increase my productivity and override fatigue. This enabled me to execute a super-human workload. It’s how I ran my business. It worked. Until it didn't.

In 2021, this self-depleting strategy caught up with me and I became so sick that I had to shutter my company due to chronic fatigue and a number of other illnesses. Long story short, the thing that buoyed my healing and enabled me to fully recover my health was a daily nervous system regulation practice and lifestyle changes to dial down my base-line stress response so that my body could relax and heal.

After two years of healing, I was physically health. It was time to go back to work. I assumed that I'd dive right back into business and pick up where I left off, with a healthy, thriving company. The business wasn't sick, I was. Right?
