Feminist Flourishing Club was created by me, Jennifer Armbrust, to share my writing and creative content related to my recently published Feminist Flourishing Framework 📒. To access club content, you must be a free or paid member.
The club runs on the Ghost platform, which enables you to manage your membership account and cancel whenever you want to. Because account management tools are fully in your hands, you are responsible for managing your subscription in adherence with our Policies & Procedures. 🌞
🌱 How to Create or Log Into An Account
To create a new account: hit the JOIN button in the upper right hand corner of the website and select a paid or free membership plan.
The best way log into the members-only area of the club website is using the button in the upper right corner of your screen. If you are already logged in, this button will say ACCOUNT. If you are not logged in, this button will say JOIN.
If you are logged out, tap the JOIN button then scroll down to the bottom of the registration window and click "Already a member? Sign in". Ghost will then email you a login link.
Ghost does not use passwords. You will always receive an email with login link to access the site. If you have cookies enabled, you will remain logged in until you choose to log out.
To manually log out click the ACCOUNT button and hit Sign Out in the lower left.
Other ways to log on: If you are logged out and trying to access a members-only page, you will see a yellow window with a button that likely says "Start Flourishing". If you look right under this button, it says "Already a member? Sign in." Tap that and Ghost will send you a new login link.
🌱 WHERE TO BEGIN?
If you are new to FFC, check out the featured posts then download the Feminist Flourishing Resource Guide (PDF). If you are a paid member, head to the post archive, which contains all the content published thus far on the site.
📒 If you don't already own the Feminist Flourishing Framework, I recommend ordering a copy. The content on this site centers around the themes presented in the book.
✻ LET'S HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT COPYRIGHT
Everything published on this website and in my newsletters and emails is my intellectual property and protected by copyright, unless otherwise noted. This material is for your personal use, only.
Club membership does not constitute transfer of copyright. Being a paid or free member does not entitle you to do whatever you want with these materials. If you would like to copy, give away, sell, reproduce, translate, or distribute anything on this website to members of your organization, clients, mailing list, friend group, life partner, or anyone else, including in your own courses, website, newsletters, or product bundles, you need to get written permission from me first. 👐 In the past, some of my customers and clients have copied or given away my work without permission or compensation. This included one proprietary piece of IP that was passed along to a multi-millionaire who tweaked it and then resold it as her own. 🫠 This is theft. This behavior undermines the value of my work and compromises my ability to support myself, financially.
If you like my work and want to share it: please support me by not giving my creations away without consent or compensation. See the handy guide below for information on how to share my work. Thank you! 🌞
📌 A GUIDE TO SHARING CLUB CONTENT
Want to quote up to one paragraph (1-5 sentences) of my work or share a snapshot of club content in your own blog or on social media?
No problem. You do not need written permission to quote up to one paragraph or share a snapshot of club content in a blog post or on social media. If you are quoting or paraphrasing me, always credit the quote with my full name (Jennifer Armbrust) and a direct URL link to the original post, even if that post is behind a paywall. This encourages people who want to access the content to join the club when they hit the paywall, which supports my work. NOTE: You may not copy-and-paste, create a PDF, or otherwise reproduce a paywalled essay to circumvent the privacy protections of the site. Don't do it!
📸 If you are sharing a photo, please share a snapshot taken with your own camera. Do not download, screenshot or copy my original image files from the FFC emails, website, or other original content.
Want to quote my writing or use my content (PDFs, audio files, etc) in a book, ebook, PDF, audiobook or other publication? Get in touch. You will need to acquire written permission from me first. Licensing fees may apply.
Want to share multiple paragraphs, a whole blog post, host a screening of my keynote, give away a PDF I created, distribute an audio file, or circulate other club content? Get in touch. You will need to acquire written permission from me first. Licensing fees may apply.
🌼 In sum, if you haven't received my written approval, sharing, selling, copying, or giving away my content is a copyright violation. Thank you!
✻ REFUNDS & RENEWALS
You are free to come and go in the club as you please and to cancel your membership at anytime. You are expected to take responsibility for your managing your account and therefore, there are no refunds. Please take note of the following policies for paying members:
→ There are no pro-rated refunds. If you cancel your account mid-cycle, you will not receive a refund for the remainder of your membership period. For example, if you sign up for a monthly membership and cancel after 15 days, you will continue to enjoy all of your member benefits for the remaining 15 days; at the end of the billing month, you will not be charged again. You will retain access to your member benefits for the remainder of the period you paid for. Your benefits will only be terminated once the paid period ends.
→ If you signed up with a free trial period, promo, or discount code and forgot to cancel before you were charged: You are not eligible for a refund. You are responsible for any membership fees charged to your account while your membership is active. In this instance, I recommend logging into your account and canceling your paid membership immediately, so that you are not charged again in the next cycle.
→ All paid memberships (monthly and yearly) are automatically set to auto-renew. Ghost does not send you a notice or reminder of recurring charges. If you know that you do not want your subscription to be renewed at the end of your current cycle, take action to cancel your account before your renewal date. You will still retain access to your member benefits for the remainder of the period you paid for. Your member benefits will only be terminated once the paid period ends.
→ If you forgot about your membership and just received a surprise charge on your card: There are no refunds. If you have a surprise charge, I recommend logging onto your account and canceling your paid membership immediately, so that you are not charged again in the next cycle.
✻ All purchases and payments are processed through Stripe and will appear on your statement as SISTER, the parent company of the Feminist Flourishing Club.
✻ MORE ON MANAGING YOUR MEMBERSHIP
Switching from a Monthly to Yearly Membership & Vice Versa
If you switch to a monthly membership to a yearly membership: you will be immediately upgraded and your year of paid access will commence. That means if you have time left in the monthly period you already paid for, it will be lost. This is annoying, I know. But, it's an automated Ghost setting that I cannot control. Consider waiting until the end of your current monthly period before upgrading to an annual subscription. Another option is to cancel your monthly subscription and wait until your membership period expires, then re-join with an annual plan.
If you switch from a yearly to a monthly membership: the change will not come into effect until the end of your current annual membership period. In this case, at the end of your 12 month membership, your account will roll over to monthly payments. There is no way to swap an annual membership for a monthly membership and receive any sort of refund.
Canceling/Downgrading Your Paid Membership
You can cancel your paid membership at any time. Your member access will expire at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not receive further subscription charges.
To cancel your paid membership and downgrade to a free account:
- Make sure your are logged into your account. Once you are logged in, click the ACCOUNT button in the top right of your screen. A pop-up will appear with your account information. On the second row, click "Change" next to your subscription category.
- Then, scroll to the bottom of the window, and click "Cancel Subscription" In the next window, click "Confirm Cancelation". Your membership will expire at the completion of your active subscription period and you will not be charged again. You will retain your member benefits for the duration of the period you paid for. For example, if you sign up for a yearly membership and cancel after 6 months, you will continue to enjoy all of your member benefits for the remaining 6 months and your membership will not be renewed after 12 month.
✻ Please note: Unsubscribing from our email newsletter (either in the ACCOUNT window or through the footer of an email) does not cancel your paid subscription or remove you from our system; it simply stops email delivery. - Once your paid membership expires, you will automatically be downgraded to the "Free Member" subscription tier. You will continue to be able to log in to the website but you will only be able to access free club content. You will no longer receive paid-member emails but you will receive our general newsletter until you unsubscribe.
Will Unsubscribing from Emails Cancel My Membership?
If You are a Paid Member: NO
Unsubscribing from our email newsletter does not cancel your paid subscription or remove you from our system. It simply stops email delivery. As a paid member, you will still be able to log into the Feminist Flourishing Club website and access all your other member benefits until you cancel your account.
If you want to stop receiving emails but keep your account active, you can unsubscribe by logging into your account or toggling "Subscribe" to off, or clicking "unsubscribe" in the footer of one of our emails.
If You are a Free Member: YES
If you are a free member and you choose to unsubscribe from Feminist Flourishing Club newsletters, your membership account will be deleted and you will not be able to access the members-only areas of the website. This is because we are charged per user and we assume if you unsubscribe as a free member, you are no longer interested in our content. If you unsubscribe, you may also be removed from the Sister mailing list. If you'd like to rejoin the club at a later date, you will be able to create a new account with the same email address.
🌞 If you want to retain access to the members-only content on the site, but DO NOT want to receive emails, you will need to become a paid member.
FFC & Sister Mailing Lists
When you sign up for FFC, you are automatically subscribed to the Sister mailing list, which is separate. If you wish to unsubscribe from the Sister emails, you can do so by clicking "unsubscribe" in the footer of the next Sister email you get.
Help, My Membership Was Mysteriously Cancelled!
Most likely, if you have not cancelled your membership but are unable to access paid-member content even after logging in, it is probably because your card expired. To re-up your membership, make sure you are logged in and click the ACCOUNT button in the upper right hand corner. If the pop-up shows you on the Free tier, re-activate your paid subscription by clicking "Manage" and choosing an available membership plan.
✻ Membership in the Feminist Flourishing Club is a privilege, not a right. Jennifer Armbrust DBA Sister & Feminist Flourishing Club reserve the right to cancel any membership at any time for any reason, without explanation. The circumstances under which are likely happen include: plagiarism, IP theft, or unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material; violation of our community guidelines; harmful, hostile, disrespectful or dishonest behavior directed towards me or another member of the club. If you have been removed from the club, and you attempt to re-join at any time in the future with the same or different email address, your new membership will be canceled and your account will be deleted.
